Deane W. Ingraham

Deane Ingraham (1931 – 2000), a Boise, Idaho native, was a Tulsa, OK commercial artist for over four decades.

Deane attended Boise Junior College 1949 – 1950. He was inducted into the Army, June 1951 and received an honorable discharge June 1954. He was stationed most of the time at Elmendorf AFB, AK. He then attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA where he received a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts in June, 1957.

Deane came to Tulsa OK in January, 1958 to work for Paul Locke Adv. as a Commercial Illustrator. He went on to work for Hinkle, Crawford and Fleming Art Studio of Tulsa, and then Graphic Associates. In 1987 he became a Freelance Illustrator. He worked on many award winning ads including Sipes illustrated grocery ads and “Girl on The Go Menu and Recipe Book.” Among his clients were Citgo, Williams Co., Phillips Petroleum, Zebco, Thrifty, Ackerman and McQueen Adv., and Brothers Adv.

He was a member of Associated Artists’ of Philbrook for about 25 years, giving away many watercolor and pencil portraits for the weekly art demonstration guests. He created posters for TACT theatre. Art had been his passion all of his life. Gifted and creative, he was a working artist.
